Jefferson County: So, get this! Two suspects tried to pull off a jewelry heist, and it didn’t go as planned. They ended up in a bit of a pickle.
It all kicked off around 8 a.m. on December 10 when a homeowner noticed something was off. They called the sheriff’s office to report a burglary in progress.
The homeowner spotted a man and a woman dressed in black, breaking into a storage container. They made off with over $11,000 worth of gold and jewelry. Can you believe that?
As they were making their getaway in an SUV, the homeowner tried to stop them by throwing firewood. Yep, you heard that right! They even shattered the SUV’s window.
Meanwhile, deputies were on their way. They found the SUV flipped over in Port Gamble. But guess what? The suspects had already bolted on foot.
Jefferson County deputies used a drone to search for them. Turns out, they had stolen a small rowboat to escape. But things went south when the boat started sinking!
With no choice left, the suspects had to swim back to shore, right into the arms of the deputies waiting for them. Talk about a dramatic ending!
After a quick medical check-up, they were booked into Jefferson County Jail. What a wild ride for these would-be thieves!
