Winnipeg: Genevieve Mushaluk, a contestant on Survivor 47, had quite the experience on the show. Even though she didn’t win the big prize, she learned a lot about herself. When she got back home, it hit her how different life was without all the distractions of technology.
She mentioned how happy she was to see her family but was shocked by how overwhelming everything felt. “I took a week off to relax, but then I jumped right back into work. The constant notifications and screens were just too much after being so focused on the island,” she said. It’s wild how being away from it all made her realize how much anxiety she had back home.
Genevieve also talked about the physical toll the experience took on her. After 24 days of limited food, she noticed her hair was falling out. “I’d pull out handfuls of hair in the shower for months. It was a reminder that my body was still recovering from everything,” she explained. She’s learning to be patient with herself as she adjusts back to normal life.
In the finale, Rachel LaMont took home the win, and Genevieve supported her. She reflected on her time with fellow contestant Teeny Chirichillo, saying their different styles made for an interesting dynamic. “We had our ups and downs, but there were also some really great moments that didn’t make it to the screen,” she shared.
Genevieve also made some strategic moves during the game, like voting off Sol Yi, which she still believes was the right choice. “He was too lovable, and that made him a threat to my game,” she said. It’s clear she played hard and made some tough decisions.
As the season wraps up, fans are already buzzing about the next one. Many think Genevieve would be a fantastic returnee for Survivor 50. Who knows what’s next for her?
