Beverly Hills: So, Patrick J. Adams has been diving back into his old show, Suits, and it’s been a bit of a mixed bag for him. He’s been watching it for his podcast with Sarah Rafferty, and he says it’s actually been pretty healing. But, he also admits it’s tough to see his newer stuff, like the film Young Werther.

He shared that he usually avoids watching his own performances. In fact, he only caught the first 45 minutes of Young Werther right before he had to talk about it. It’s kind of funny how he feels about it all.

In Young Werther, he plays a guy named Albert, who’s engaged to Charlotte, but there’s this love triangle going on with Werther, who’s got his eyes on Charlotte too. Adams was drawn to the project because of the charming script, which really emphasizes dialogue. It’s a big shift from his role in Suits.

He mentioned feeling a bit scared about how the heightened language would come across. But once he got on set, everything clicked. The cast was so grounded that the dialogue just flowed naturally. He really appreciated the unique vision of the director, José Avelino Gilles Corbett Lourenço.

Adams also talked about how watching Suits now feels different. It’s like he can finally appreciate the work without being too hard on himself. He compared it to looking at a picture of himself; it’s tough at first, but after some time, he’s okay with it.

He even found it hard to watch his wedding video shortly after tying the knot with Troian Bellisario. He said it was such a magical day, but seeing it all condensed into a video felt uncomfortable. He wants to savor the joy of the moment before it becomes just a product out in the world.

In the end, he’s working on being better at celebrating his work in the moment, even if it’s a struggle. It’s all part of the job, and he’s determined to finish watching Young Werther soon.
