They teamed up with Suffolk Mind and Orbital Global, a local company that’s been recognized for its work in AI. Together, they’ve created something special.
The project aims to make library visits more enjoyable and boost wellbeing by connecting people with local events, like art classes and author talks.
Bruce Leeke, the CEO of Suffolk Libraries, mentioned that as the NHS shifts towards more community-based support, Discover More is a great way for people to see what’s available to help them feel better.
This initiative is backed by funding from Arts Council England and Suffolk County Council, showing a strong commitment to community health.
Discover More uses data from Suffolk Libraries and Suffolk Infolink, powered by smart algorithms to suggest services that fit your needs.
Hayden Allen-Vercoe from Orbital Global shared that it was a challenging project, but seeing how it helps people connect with local services has been rewarding.
He emphasized that it’s all about using AI for good, making a real difference in people’s lives.
