Families, Rotarians, and local dignitaries filled The Langley Performing Arts Centre in Beckenham. The atmosphere was buzzing with pride as winners received certificates, vouchers, and tickets to see Bromley Football Club from the Mayor, Cllr Dr David Barrington-Jefferys.
Among the awardees were young carers who support family members with serious health issues. Others have volunteered in care homes or raised significant funds for charities like Cancer Research and Save the Children.
Some students even helped build a school in Tanzania! Several winners are part of the Bromley Youth Council, and some have started their own charities. One student even organized a charity run from Paris to St Andrews, raising an impressive £24,000.
There were also students providing hot meals for the homeless and volunteering at local schools for children with special needs. The awards have grown over the years, starting with just four schools a decade ago, and this year, nominations came from 20 schools.
Winners ranged in age from 11 to 18, and many received commendation certificates for their efforts outside of school. The list of winners included Aminat Adekanme, Layla Allen, and many more, showcasing the incredible talent and compassion of Bromley’s youth.
