During the court session, the sheriff decided to excuse Stuart from a future review meeting, which Gillian found frustrating. She believes his career shouldn’t have been a factor in the sentencing. There are now calls for him to lose his MBE, which he received for his contributions to rugby.

Stuart had admitted to domestic abuse charges that spanned several years, and it seems his behavior worsened after he moved to England for rugby. Gillian finally decided to end their marriage and sought help from a domestic abuse service after experiencing panic attacks due to his harassment.

Things escalated to the point where police had to be called to their home because of his aggressive behavior. Even after being told not to contact her, he continued to reach out, which led to his sentencing last month.

Despite his retirement from professional rugby, he signed a new deal with a French team last summer. Now, with all this drama, people are questioning whether he should keep his MBE. It’s a tough situation, and many feel the justice system isn’t doing enough to protect victims like Gillian.
