Stockton: A drug dealer named Andrew Gibson was caught with a lot of crack cocaine. He might have been a victim of ‘cuckooing’, which is when someone takes over a vulnerable person’s home for drug dealing.

Gibson was in serious financial trouble when he was arrested on May 13. He was making about £50 a day selling drugs, just to buy essentials. The court learned he had nearly £2,000 worth of drugs and £525 in cash when he was caught.

The judge noted that Gibson was vulnerable and likely taken advantage of. His lawyer mentioned that he has health issues, including pneumonia and heart failure. He admitted to possessing drugs with the intent to sell.

Gibson has a history of 11 previous convictions. He received a two-year suspended prison sentence and must complete 10 days of rehabilitation. The judge warned him that any further offenses would lead to prison time.
