Merthyr Tydfil: So, there was this amazing moment on ITV1’s Deal or No Deal. A former soldier named Matthew played the game, and it was super emotional. He wanted to win money for the kids’ football team he coaches and to take his family on a holiday.
Matthew really nailed it during the game. There were some intense moments, especially when he had to decide whether to take the banker’s offer. He had his mum and father-in-law in the audience, and his father-in-law got so choked up he could barely talk when it came time to make a big decision about £21,190.
Stephen Mulhern, the host, was blown away by Matthew’s game. He even chatted with Matthew’s in-laws about what to do next. His mother-in-law, Alison, was all for playing on, while his father-in-law, Michael, was just too emotional to say much. It was a real family affair!
Alison said, “He deserves so much. It is life-changing money for them.” And Michael managed to get out, “It’s not the money… it’s just…” with Stephen jumping in to say, “Just what he has gone through.” Matthew opened up about his PTSD, wanting to show everyone that there’s hope out there.
Before Matthew made his final choice, Stephen remarked, “I have never seen such emotion in the Deal or No Deal room.” In the end, Matthew decided to pass on the £21,190 offer and kept playing. He ended up accepting the next offer of £31,190, which had everyone in the studio cheering!
