Newton Abbot: The fire station recently said goodbye to Crew Manager Rob Cude after an impressive 32 years. Rob joined Station 28 back in the early ’90s and quickly made a name for himself.

In 1995, he became a full-time firefighter and climbed the ranks to Group Manager. But after all those years, Rob decided it was time to hang up his helmet and retire.

On January 14, he took the batteries out of his pager for the last time. To celebrate his retirement, the station gifted him a bronze statue of a firefighter, which was a lovely touch.

They also threw a big buffet with tons of food and cakes to mark the occasion. The team at Newton Abbot Fire Station expressed their sadness, saying Rob was a true pillar of the community.

They shared how much he would be missed, highlighting his calm demeanor in tough situations and his ability to bring smiles to everyone around him. Rob’s contributions to the station and the community will surely leave a lasting impact.
