Bankstown: So, Tania Mihailuk has officially quit One Nation, and it’s a big deal for the party. She said she felt left out of the loop about how things were being run. That’s gotta sting for Pauline Hanson.

Tania joined the NSW Legislative Council just last May after Mark Latham stepped down. But now, she’s the last One Nation member standing in the state, following the exits of Latham and Rod Roberts.

In a Facebook post, she explained that she couldn’t keep representing the party if she wasn’t fully informed about what was going on. She really thought about it before making her decision.

She mentioned that earlier this year, she hit a wall with the party and decided it was time to move on. Tania made it clear that she respects One Nation as Pauline Hanson’s party but felt a duty to her constituents to ensure everything was transparent.

Despite being the only One Nation MP in NSW, she just couldn’t be the face of the party when she didn’t have all the info. Tania wished the best for Hanson and Roberts, thanking One Nation members for their support during her time as leader.

Her exit is definitely a blow to Hanson. Tania said her values haven’t changed, and she plans to stay on as a conservative independent MLC, continuing to fight for her constituents.

She’s particularly concerned about issues like religious freedom and parental rights, which she feels are under threat from the NSW Labor government. Tania is ready to take on the fight, especially with the review of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act coming up in 2025.

She’s been in politics for a while, first getting elected to the Bankstown Council back in 2004 and becoming mayor in 2006. She even served in the NSW Legislative Assembly after being endorsed by Labor but left the party in 2023 after some drama with Chris Minns.
