Branch County: Tributes for Bud Norman, the retiring Branch County Administrator, kicked off Friday afternoon. It was a heartfelt gathering.
State Senator Jonathan Lindsey and Representative Andrew Fink were there, along with friends and family. They presented Norman with a special proclamation for his impressive 17 and a half years of service.
Sen. Lindsey praised Norman, saying he’s been a fantastic partner during his time in the Senate. He couldn’t have asked for more support. Norman kept him informed about local issues, even sending him to meetings in Ohio about aquifers that affect the county.
Rep. Fink echoed those sentiments, emphasizing how crucial it is to have someone like Norman who knows the local landscape. He mentioned that Norman’s experience is invaluable for understanding the community’s needs.
Interestingly, this isn’t Norman’s first retirement. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army before taking on the role of Branch County Administrator in July 2006. He moved to the area after retiring as a colonel, following his wife’s roots.
Frank Walsh is set to take over Norman’s position starting January 1. It’s a big change for the county, but Norman’s legacy will surely be felt for years to come.
