The trouble started when Ellis Musgrove, the ex of Ford’s friend, got into a spat with him earlier that night. After a drink was thrown, Musgrove gathered his buddies and went after Ford. They rolled up in a red VW, and things escalated quickly.
Witnesses caught much of the chaos on video. Ford heard one of the attackers, Broom, yell about waiting to “give you a hammering.” It was a wild scene, with Jamie Musgrove swinging a tyre wrench and Coulson trying to stab Ford with a knife.
Ford ended up with a stab wound to his shoulder and some nasty bruises. He later shared how living nearby constantly reminded him of how lucky he was to escape with his life.
In court, the sentences varied. Ellis Musgrove got 17 months for unlawful wounding, while Coulson received 42 months for more serious charges. Jamie Musgrove was sentenced to 40 months, and Broom got five years for his role in the attack and a robbery that happened shortly after.
The judge made it clear that this was a group effort fueled by revenge. It’s a tough reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control when tempers flare.
