Arbroath: Stagecoach is rolling out new bus links in town to connect retail spots and housing areas. They’re adding routes to places like Warddykes, Kirkton, and the Westway Retail Park. Plus, they’ll serve Arbroath Infirmary, which is a big win for locals.

The company thinks these changes will make trips to Stracathro Hospital quicker too. They’re also tweaking local service times in Arbroath and Montrose to better fit traffic patterns. Sounds like a smart move!

On top of that, Stagecoach is investing in a fleet of electric buses. This is exciting news for the environment and for commuters alike. They’re aiming to improve punctuality, which has been a bit of a headache lately.

Douglas Robertson, the managing director, mentioned that they’re listening to community feedback. They’re even bringing back the 16 bus service that was cut earlier. It’s great to see them responding to what people want.

They’re also adjusting routes to connect Arbroath with Ninewells Hospital, which is super helpful for those needing medical care. The new Tayway services will link various towns to Dundee city center, making it easier for everyone.

As for the new electric buses, they’re set to hit the roads this spring. Sixteen double-deck electric buses and six single-deck ones are joining the fleet. They’re also working on charging stations at the Arbroath depot and Dundee bus station.

Robertson is optimistic that these changes will boost reliability. In the meantime, they’ve upgraded many of their existing buses to newer models, which should help improve service until the new fleet arrives.
