Basingstoke: St Michael’s Hospice is gearing up for a busy 2025 with a lineup of events to support those with life-limiting illnesses. They’re planning walking challenges, a golf day, and their popular cycling event, Big Wheel.
These activities aim to raise funds for the hospice, which needs about £15,000 daily to provide care. It’s a big task, but they’re ready to tackle it with community support.
The hospice is all about inclusivity, offering something for everyone. Whether you’re into family-friendly fun, corporate challenges, or a bit of adrenaline, there’s an event for you.
To kick things off, they’re giving a sweet deal: 25% off all event registrations in January with the code ‘25OFF25’. It’s a great way to start the year!
Georgia, who joined the Reindeer Run last December, shared her excitement. She said it was their first time, but they loved it and plan to return next year. It was a festive blast, from the warm-up to crossing the finish line with medals.
In 2024, over 1,490 people took part in hospice events, raising crucial funds. The hospice cared for more than 275 patients in their in-patient unit and made over 1,800 home visits.
A heartfelt message from a patient’s wife expressed deep gratitude for the care her husband received. She appreciated the comfort and respect shown during his final days, which helped her stay strong.
