Caerphilly: So, there was quite a scare at St Martin’s School recently. The school went into lockdown for nearly two hours after someone reported a possible weapon on the premises.

Students were told to stay in their classrooms and even get under their desks. It sounds intense, right? But the headteacher, Mr. Jarvis, praised everyone for handling the situation well.

He explained that they acted quickly after getting advice from the police. Thankfully, after the police checked things out, they found no weapon or intruder.

Gwent Police confirmed they received a call around 10:30 am about safety concerns. They said the lockdown was just a precaution and that everything was safe afterward.

The council also mentioned that the school followed the right procedures and that everyone was safe. It’s a relief to hear that it was just a false alarm, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry!
