San Antonio: So, here’s the scoop. Gregg Popovich, the legendary Spurs coach, had a mild stroke back on November 2. He’s been taking it easy since then, focusing on his recovery.
He recently shared a heartfelt message, thanking everyone for their support during this tough time. It’s been a wild six weeks for him and his family, and he really appreciates all the love coming their way.
At 75, Popovich is in his 29th season with the Spurs, making him the longest-tenured coach in the NBA. He’s racked up an impressive 1,391 regular-season wins and five championships. Talk about a legend!
While he’s out, assistant coach Mitch Johnson is stepping up to lead the team. Right now, the Spurs are sitting at a 13-13 record as they gear up for their next game against the Atlanta Hawks.
