Aviemore: Tickets for the Spirit of Speyside whisky festival go on sale Monday at noon. This festival lasts six days and is in its 26th year. It features almost 500 events across 89 venues starting April 30.
Henry Angus is the new chairman, taking over from George McNeil. He has a strong connection to the festival and aims to enhance its reputation. Henry believes Speyside is the best whisky region, with the most distilleries globally.
The festival offers a mix of activities, from masterclasses to music and quizzes. Last year, it attracted visitors from 39 countries, with ticket sales rising to 8,400. This generated over £2.2 million for the local economy and supported around 20 jobs.
Many of the 51 distilleries will open their doors again, including some usually closed to the public. The festival kicks off with an industry dinner on April 30 at the Macdonald Highlands Hotel in Aviemore.
Some exciting events include the Spirit of Speyside Whisky School, Whisky & Waves, and the Malt Master Tour. For more details and tickets, visit spiritofspeyside.com.
