Warrington: The Specsavers Home Visits team is on a mission to spread some holiday cheer. They provide eye and ear checks for folks who can’t make it out due to illness or disability.
This December, they decided to brighten up the season by delivering Christmas cards and cake slices to their customers across the North West.
Jonathan Fullalove, the customer service director, shared that they sent staff out with 250 Christmas cake slabs and cards. It was a sweet little gift to show appreciation for their customers’ support throughout the year.
They got creative with their deliveries, choosing random customers for the cake slices and even donating nine-inch cakes to care homes for coffee mornings.
Mr. Fullalove mentioned how Christmas can be a lonely time for many. He loves giving out presents and making someone’s day a bit brighter.
Even small gestures can really make a difference, and the team is committed to doing just that.
Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed. One customer’s family member reached out to express their gratitude after a visit.
Mr. Fullalove recounted a touching moment when a teary-eyed next of kin called after a visit to her mum. The mum was thrilled to read with a magnifier they provided and was delighted by the card and goodies.
She told him their gesture was amazing, especially for those who feel isolated during the holidays, and it truly changed her quality of life.
Plus, her mother loved the Christmas cake!
The Specsavers Home Visits service aims to give customers the same experience they’d have in-store, but right in their own homes. This personalized approach allows optometrists to cater to each customer’s unique needs.
While based in Warrington, they cover a large area in the North West, including Liverpool, Chester, the Wirral, Widnes, and St Helens.
