Spalding: An artist named Jade Cundy made a special leather jacket for an eight-year-old girl named Dulcie O’Kelly. Dulcie has cancer and wore the jacket to a film premiere in London.

Jade runs a business called Painted Love Customs. She started it in 2017 and has grown a big following on social media. She creates custom designs on jackets, shoes, and bags.

Last September, Dulcie’s mom reached out to Jade. She wanted a unique jacket for Dulcie to wear at a red carpet event. Jade was excited to help and wanted to make something special.

Dulcie was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in 2021. Her family learned she had a 40-50% chance of long-term survival. They were later contacted by Sky for a documentary about kids with cancer.

Jade designed a bright pink jacket with flowers and glitter. It also featured the words “Dulcie: Cancer Warrior” on the back. Dulcie wore it proudly at the premiere in Leicester Square.

Many celebrities attended the event, and Jade felt honored to create the jacket. She said it was her proudest moment as an artist. Nile Rodgers even complimented the design!

Jade shared a video of her painting the jacket on TikTok. She donated the money she earned from the video to Dulcie’s treatment. She feels grateful for her supportive online community.

Recently, Jade launched her own clothing brand. It features popular designs on hoodies, t-shirts, and accessories. You can find more on her Painted Love Customs website or Instagram page.
