Southport Killer Had Ricin Ingredients Delivered to Neighbour
A Southport man received ricin-making ingredients at a neighbor’s home, raising serious safety concerns

Southport: So, there’s this wild story about a guy named Axel Rudakubana. He had some pretty dangerous stuff sent to his neighbor’s house. We’re talking about ingredients to make ricin, a deadly toxin.
He used a fake name, “Al Rud,” to order seeds that could be turned into this poison. It all went down in January 2022, and his neighbor was totally confused when packages started showing up.
The neighbor even reached out to Rudakubana’s dad, asking him to sort it out. His dad said it was all taken care of and that Axel would use their address next time. But, you know, that just raises a lot of questions about whether they could have stopped him earlier.
Turns out, Axel had been flagged for radicalization three times but never got the help he needed. Fast forward to last Thursday, and he was sentenced to life in prison for some horrific crimes.
He pleaded guilty to killing three young girls during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class and trying to hurt others too. It’s just heartbreaking.
After the attack, police searched his home and found a Tupperware container with a mysterious substance under his bed. Spoiler alert: it was ricin. They also found some lab equipment and a bag that had contained castor beans, which are used to make ricin.
Experts say he had enough beans to create a ton of lethal doses. A neighbor even claimed that the ricin killed her cat, which is just awful. The poor thing had to be put down after having a seizure.
