Liverpool: A social media influencer just got banned from driving after she was caught speeding in her dad’s Porsche at 93mph. She told the court that using taxis and trains for her work would be too “challenging.” Can you believe that?
Lucia Campolucci-Bordi, who’s 32 and a mom of two, was disqualified after a cop clocked her speeding on the M57. She was driving a fancy Porsche Macan, and it seems she really needed her license for work and to take care of her kids.
She argued that without her license, getting to media gigs would be tough. But the magistrates weren’t buying it. They disqualified her for six months, saying she could still manage her business without driving.
Lucia mentioned that she’s been juggling her kids and work, but she didn’t consider taking the bus. She said hiring a chauffeur was out of her budget, too. It sounds like she’s in a bit of a pickle.
In court, she admitted to speeding and explained how her job involves meeting clients and doing content shoots. She said it’s hard to get around without her own car since her clients are all over the place.
She’s got two little ones, ages two and four, and has been living at her parents’ house while going through a separation. Her granddad has been helping with the school runs, but that’s a lot to ask of an 85-year-old.
Lucia also shared that the day she sped, she was stressed out with her kids fighting in the car. She knows speeding is bad, especially with kids on board, but she was just having a rough day.
In the end, the court fined her £307 and added costs. The magistrates pointed out that she could still run her business without her license, and she has family support to help with the kids. It’s a tough situation, but it seems like she’s got some options.
