MONTREAL: So, a big snowstorm hit Quebec starting Monday night, and now we’re all set for a white Christmas. But, of course, it’s not all fun and games. The roads are a bit of a mess, with cars slipping and sliding everywhere.

Authorities have been busy dealing with accidents on major highways like 10, 20, 40, and 15. It’s been a hectic time, especially with everyone traveling for the holidays.

According to Quebec 511, there were quite a few lane closures and heavy traffic, but thankfully things are getting back to normal now that the snow has slowed down.

Environment Canada reported that a low-pressure system dropped about 10 to 15 cm of that light, fluffy snow across southern Quebec. Just before 10 a.m., Montreal and Gatineau had about 13 cm, while Granby got 12 cm, and Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières saw around 11 cm.

A spokesperson from Quebec’s Transport Department reassured everyone that the roads are clear now, so folks can travel safely for Christmas Eve. Just in time for the holiday!
