Snow to return to Birmingham in days following Met Office yellow weather warning

Birmingham: More snow is on the way! The Met Office has warned us to expect some wintry weather in the next few days. They’ve even put out a yellow warning for snow and ice, which is in effect until late tonight.

Travel could get a bit tricky, so keep that in mind. The forecasters mentioned that heavy snow and maybe some freezing rain could cause disruptions over the weekend. There’s even a chance of power cuts and some mobile phone issues.

Watch out for icy surfaces too! There’s a small risk of slips and falls, and we might see some delays on the roads. Some folks could even get stranded, and flights or trains might be delayed or canceled.

The cold isn’t going anywhere soon. Tomorrow, we’re expecting sleet, and light snow is likely to fall on Wednesday afternoon. The Met Office says it’ll stay chilly, with icy spots hanging around.

Looking ahead, the forecast from January 10 to 19 suggests a frosty start to Friday, with some rain and possibly sleet moving in later. High pressure might settle in, giving us some calmer weather mid-month, but don’t be surprised if we see some milder, windier conditions pop up, especially in the north and west. Snow could even make a comeback on higher ground!
