Essex: Weather forecasters say snow might hit parts of Essex soon. A cold snap is expected to last for a week.

After a warm weekend, colder weather is on the way. BBC Weather predicts temperatures could drop below freezing from Wednesday to next Sunday.

Braintree and Chelmsford might see light snow and a breeze on Monday. However, wet sleet on February 9 could prevent any snow from settling.

Harlow and Colchester are also in the snow forecast, while Southend-on-Sea and Grays may only get sleet showers. WXCharts predicts snowfall over Essex on February 16.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast mentions high pressure near the UK. This could lead to dry conditions in southern and eastern areas, with frost and fog at night.

Further north and west, Atlantic air might bring rain and milder temperatures. If conditions shift, colder weather and wintry showers could affect some areas.
