Toronto: So, Southern Ontario has been enjoying a little break from the cold, but guess what? That’s about to change. By midweek, we’re looking at a return to wintery weather.
Snow is on the way, and temperatures are going to drop into the negatives. This chilly weather will stick around through the weekend, so get ready!
If you’ve got any last-minute holiday decorating or shopping to do, Tuesday is your day. After that, snow and cold will make things a bit tricky.
There’s a weak system moving in on Wednesday, bringing some messy, snowy weather. Expect slippery roads and slower commutes, especially in the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa Valley.
While the lakeshores might see some rain due to Lake Ontario’s warming effect, places like Pearson International Airport will be getting snow.
By Wednesday evening, Ottawa will start seeing snow, with about 2-5 cm expected by Thursday morning. Just keep in mind, there might be some rain-snow mix, so totals could vary.
And it doesn’t stop there! A low-pressure system is expected to roll in Thursday night and Friday, bringing widespread snow and some blustery conditions.
This weekend is going to be the coldest we’ve seen so far this season. Cottage country could hit around -20°C, and that chill will spread across the region.
Frigid weather will hang around through Sunday, but don’t worry, temperatures should start to warm up early next week.
