A man worked as a school caretaker for two decades using a fake identity, raising serious concerns about immigration checks.

Slough: Mounir Lameche had been working as a caretaker at Beechwood School for 20 years, all while using a fake name and a fraudulent Italian passport to get through background checks.
He was caught when a DBS application was submitted under the name Adel Boughamouz, which turned out to be a false identity. The court heard that without those fake documents, he wouldn’t have landed the job.
Prosecutors pointed out that Lameche’s employment was entirely based on his ability to deceive with false paperwork. It’s a pretty serious situation.
During the police search of his home in Slough, they found multiple passports and ID cards, all under different names. It’s wild how he managed to keep this up for so long.
Interestingly, another illegal immigrant, Amine Lameche, was also found at the same address, holding a fake Belgian driving license. They both came from Algeria and had been living in the UK for over 20 years.
Their lawyer argued that they might be allowed to stay in the UK because of their long-term residency, but the Home Office had already turned down Mounir’s application to remain.
Both men had been paying taxes for two decades under their false identities, which adds another layer to this complicated case.
The lawyer mentioned that sending them to prison could really mess up their chances of staying in the UK. Mounir admitted to using fake documents just to keep his job and survive.
He’s not a criminal in the traditional sense; he just wanted to make a living. The court couldn’t punish them right away because of the complexities surrounding their immigration status, so the case is set to continue in February.
