Philadelphia: The Sixers are really feeling the heat with another injury. KJ Martin just got sidelined with a left foot issue, and it’s a bummer.

He had an MRI that showed a stress reaction in his foot. The team says he’ll be out for about two weeks. That’s a tough break for the 23-year-old forward.

Martin had to leave the game against the Spurs on Monday night, and at first, they just called it “left foot soreness.” But now we know it’s more serious.

He’s been a solid player for the team lately, starting the last four games and really contributing. In the last 13 games, he’s averaged 8.2 points and 3.8 rebounds, helping the Sixers’ defense look a lot better.

He’s also been more confident with his three-point shooting, hitting 37.5 percent of them. Plus, he’s been efficient overall, shooting 61.4 percent from the field.

Martin feels like he fits in well with the stars on the team, like Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid. He mentioned how he likes to play off them and get open shots when he can.

With him out, other players like Caleb Martin and Guerschon Yabusele might need to step up. Yabusele had to play center when Embiid got ejected, and Caleb Martin just came back from his own injury, scoring 12 points in the last game.
