Derbyshire: So, there’s some roadwork drama happening on the A6 Chatsworth Road. Severn Trent is diving into a six-week project to fix a sewage pipe. They’ve set up two-way traffic lights to keep things moving while they work on replacing a long stretch of pipe.

They kicked off the work on January 13, and it’s all about replacing a 180-meter section of the sewer. The traffic lights are there to keep everyone safe while the crew gets the job done. They’re aiming to wrap it all up by the end of February.

Christina Massey, the community communications officer for Severn Trent, mentioned that as pipes age, they can start to have issues like bursts. They’ve had a few complaints about the pressurized sewer in Rowsley, which isn’t pleasant at all. So, they’re on it for six weeks to make sure everything runs smoothly.

She also pointed out that this upgrade will help the local waste network handle climate change and population growth better. Starting from Chatsworth Road near Peak Shopping Village, they’ll work their way south to Dale Road North.

For most of the project, it’ll be two-way traffic lights, but they’ll switch to three-way lights when they hit the junction with the A6. Christina understands that these temporary lights can be a hassle, but they’re crucial for safety while they get the work done. She’s thanking everyone in advance for their patience.

The A6 is a busy route that stretches from Carlisle to Luton, passing through several Derbyshire towns. It’s a popular shortcut for drivers heading north to Baslow and North East Derbyshire, even going through the Chatsworth Estate along the way.
