Chelmsford: Sir Grayson Perry, known for his art, just wowed everyone on The Masked Singer. He performed as Kingfisher and almost reached the semi-finals.
No one on the judging panel guessed it was him. Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan, and Davina McCall were all surprised.
Perry sang “Something Stupid” by Nancy and Frank Sinatra. He left clues about his identity over the weeks.
His character aimed to attract younger viewers. Clues included an East End accent and items like dog treats and a radio.
Fans speculated about Kingfisher’s identity on social media. After revealing himself, Perry expressed how much he enjoyed the experience.
He joked about the challenges of performing in a mask. He said, “I can’t hear, I can’t see, I can’t even scratch my nose!”
