Nottingham: The Queen’s Drive Park-and-Ride has been shut down for over a week now because of flooding. It looks like it might take a while before it can reopen since some major repairs could be on the horizon.

The city council confirmed that the site is still closed and they’ll be checking out the damage soon. This park-and-ride, which is right by the River Trent, has had to close a lot in recent years due to flooding issues.

Things got a bit messy back in late November when Travellers set up camp in the car park, adding to the troubles. But on a brighter note, the council mentioned that conditions have improved lately. The ice has melted, and they’re planning to send a sweeper to clean up the leftover flood debris.

Once that’s done, they’ll start testing the site’s infrastructure and see what repairs are needed. In the meantime, if you need to get around, CT4N’s Medilink service is still running, connecting the Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital.

There are also alternative park-and-ride options available at Nottingham Racecourse and several tram sites around the city, so you’ve got choices while the Queen’s Drive site is out of commission.
