Spartanburg: Shoppers in the Upstate are getting ready for a winter storm. On Wednesday, they flocked to grocery stores for bread, milk, and eggs.
The parking lots were packed, and carts were overflowing with essentials. People were loading up their cars, making sure they had what they needed.
When snow is on the way, bread and milk are always top of the list. Folks want to be prepared in case they can’t get out on the roads.
Clay Chaney from the National Weather Service said snow will start falling around noon on Friday. It’s expected to stick around for a good part of the day.
They’re predicting 1-3 inches for Greenville, with even more in the northern areas. So, it’s definitely time to stock up.
Tammy Bishop was at S&A Discount Grocery, filling her basket with supplies. She knows that when it snows in South Carolina, things can get tricky.
“I’m getting ready because I live out in the country, and I don’t want to drive in the snow,” she said. She grabbed bread for sandwiches and a pork roast just in case the power goes out.
She was hoping to find eggs and milk but had to plan a trip to Walmart next. Across town, Jermia Sawyer was also shopping for her family.
She said, “Once you lose power, you’ve got to figure out how to eat and keep warm.” She felt ready for whatever the storm might bring.
Before the snow hits, it’s a good idea to stock up on essentials. Direct Energy suggests getting bottled water, canned foods, and snacks.
Things like cereal, jarred items, and shelf-stable peanut butter are also great to have on hand. It’s all about being prepared for the days ahead.
So, if you’re in Spartanburg, make sure you grab what you need before the storm rolls in!
