Maidstone: A shocking incident unfolded when a man was brutally attacked outside a block of flats. The attacker, Robert Fletcher, stamped on the victim’s head twice while he was already down and injured.

This all happened in the early hours of August 18 last year. The victim had a bleeding nose and mouth, making him an easy target for Fletcher, who was fueled by drugs and alcohol.

CCTV footage captured the whole thing, showing Fletcher kicking the man while he lay on a flower bed. It was pretty clear that the victim was in no shape to defend himself.

Witnesses reported the fight, and the police quickly arrived at the scene. Fletcher was arrested and found with a small amount of cocaine. He had a long history of crime, including multiple shoplifting charges.

At his sentencing, the judge was not impressed with Fletcher’s behavior. He pointed out that the attack could have easily led to the victim’s death. Fletcher had previously been on bail for other thefts, but that didn’t stop him from getting into more trouble.

Fletcher pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of assault causing actual bodily harm. His lawyer tried to argue that he felt bad about what happened, but the judge wasn’t buying it. He made it clear that stamping on someone’s head is just plain unacceptable.

In the end, Fletcher was sentenced to 28 months in prison. He’s expected to be out in about nine months, but it’s clear he has a long way to go to turn his life around.
