Bestwood: A 22-year-old named Corey Fawsitt went on a wild shoplifting spree. He stole 34 times in just three weeks, hitting multiple stores.

One shop on Beckhampton Road was hit 31 times! This all happened between January 4 and 25. Fawsitt even stole from another shop twice and a third one once.

He had a routine: dash in, grab low-value items, and run out. It’s crazy how bold he was, especially since he was already banned from these stores.

Local police were on high alert. They wanted to catch him fast, especially with the rise in thefts. They even put out a media appeal to find him.

Just a day after the appeal, officers spotted him in Forest Fields. He tried to run but got caught. He faced 35 charges, including resisting arrest.

Fawsitt appeared in court on January 31 and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to a year in prison. It’s about time he faced the music!

Sergeant Craig Purcell from Nottinghamshire Police expressed relief. He said the team worked hard to deal with Fawsitt. His actions were unacceptable and caused distress to store staff.

Purcell hopes this strong sentence sends a message. Shoplifting is serious, and there are consequences. Let’s hope this deters others from following in his footsteps.
