Cardiff: So, there was this wild incident at an Asda where a guy named Michael Jones pulled a knife on a security guard. Can you believe that? He was trying to steal some toys and towels worth over £300 when things got really out of hand.

When the alarms went off, the security guard asked to see his receipt, but Jones just refused. Then, during a scuffle, he whipped out a Stanley knife and threatened the guard, saying he was going to cut him. Thankfully, the guard managed to push him out of the store, and they got the stolen items back.

But it didn’t stop there. Jones started hurling racial slurs at the guard, saying some pretty nasty stuff. He was later caught on CCTV, which didn’t help his case at all.

Fast forward to November 11, and the police found him stumbling around. Turns out, he was wanted for all those thefts. When they tried to help him, he got all aggressive and started cursing at the officers. Not cool at all.

His record is pretty shocking too. He’s got 59 previous convictions for theft and a whole bunch of other offenses. His lawyer said he was caught up in a drug gang situation, which made his life spiral out of control after his partner was murdered back in 2015.

In the end, the judge sentenced him to 17 months in prison. He’ll serve half of that behind bars before being released on license. It’s a tough situation all around, but you can’t just go around threatening people, right?
