Oldbury: A fraudster has been sentenced for tricking homeowners into paying for work he never planned to do. Kevin Bambrick, a rogue trader, is now behind bars for his shady dealings.
This 36-year-old guy ran his business under the name Kevin Bambrick Builders. He managed to con eight households, many of whom were elderly or vulnerable. The court heard he could be pretty abrasive when dealing with his victims.
It all started back in June 2021 when Dudley Council’s Trading Standards team got wind of his scams. They were contacted by folks who had paid him for materials and services that never showed up. One poor victim was left with their home in a terrible state for months.
Bambrick eventually pleaded guilty to fraud and was sentenced to 34 months in prison on January 3. The judge didn’t hold back, saying his actions were dishonest from the get-go and that he kept deceiving people for a long time.
After the sentencing, Councillor James Clinton spoke out, emphasizing that they won’t tolerate traders who break the law. He called it a shocking case of poor workmanship and praised the victims for coming forward.
