Mumbai: Sanjay Raut, a leader from Shiv Sena (UBT), recently made it clear that his party is not looking to break up the INDIA bloc or the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Instead, they want to focus on strengthening their base in local body elections.

He mentioned that the decision to contest solo is about giving their party workers more opportunities and ensuring growth. This raised some eyebrows about the unity of the opposition, but Raut insists they’re not calling for any disbanding.

Raut explained that the alliances were formed for specific elections, and local body polls are crucial for empowering party workers. He stressed that he never suggested dissolving the INDIA bloc or MVA.

When asked about criticism from Congress leaders regarding their solo plans, Raut advised them to listen to his full comments before jumping to conclusions. He believes that understanding each other is key.

He also pointed out that they have plenty of time to prepare for the next Lok Sabha and Maharashtra assembly elections, which are still a few years away.

On a different note, Raut commented on the recent violence in Maharashtra, linking it to the tragic murder of a local leader. He expressed that peace cannot be achieved while protecting those involved in such crimes.

The political landscape in Maharashtra is tense, especially after the recent assembly election results, which saw the ruling alliance gaining a significant majority. This has left the opposition, including Shiv Sena (UBT), with a lot of work to do.
