Ruthin: Recently, two sheep were badly hurt in what seems to be a dog attack. They needed urgent care to stay alive, which is pretty alarming.

The North Wales Police Rural Crime Team shared that this incident happened between December 20th and 24th, right before Christmas. The poor ewe lambs were attacked while grazing in fields in Pentre Celyn.

Both sheep suffered serious injuries, and one of them had to get special treatment to survive. There’s even a photo showing the injuries, which is quite distressing. The police are reminding dog owners to keep their pets on a lead when they’re around livestock.

They also advised folks living near farms to check their property boundaries. It’s important to make sure dogs can’t escape through fences or gates. This kind of thing can really hurt farmers, and it’s everyone’s job to help prevent these attacks.

PC Chris James mentioned that these incidents can be devastating for farmers, and it’s crucial for everyone to do their part to stop them from happening. If anyone knows anything about this incident, they should reach out to the rural crime team or Crimestoppers.

It’s a good reminder for all of us to be responsible pet owners, especially around livestock. Let’s hope the sheep recover quickly!
