A shed fire in Carnon Downs caused a power cut, affecting over 100 homes. Fire crews quickly responded to the scene to manage the situation.

Carnon Downs: A shed fire broke out this evening. It left many residents without power. The fire started around 7 PM, just southwest of Truro.

Fire crews arrived quickly. They found the flames spreading to a garage. Thankfully, they managed to put it out. However, the fire damaged electrical wires.

According to the National Grid, 112 homes lost power. As of 9:45 PM, two homes still had no electricity. Engineers are on-site working to fix the issue.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service reported that fire appliances from Truro and Falmouth responded. They confirmed the fire spread from the shed to the garage.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and hoses to extinguish the flames. The National Grid is also on the scene to address the power problems.

They expect to restore power to the remaining homes by 11 PM. The outage affected residents in Forth Coth and Carnon Crescent.
