Shawarma House Set to Open on Friarage Street in Northallerton

Northallerton: Exciting news for food lovers! Shawarma House is moving into the old Kam Bo House location on Friarage Street. You might have seen the new signage popping up already.
So, here’s the scoop. Kam Bo House had to close its doors after getting a pretty rough hygiene rating. They scored a zero-star during an inspection back in October 2024, which is definitely not good.
The inspection found some serious issues. They needed to improve food handling, cleanliness, and overall food safety management. Yikes!
Now, Shawarma House is stepping in to fill that gap. The old gold lettering has been swapped out for a fresh new sign. It’s all looking pretty snazzy!
Details about Shawarma House are still a bit scarce. The Northern Echo has been trying to reach out to the owners for more info.
From what we can see, the place has a new look, but the windows are all covered up, so we can’t peek inside just yet. They’ve got a “coming soon” sign up, but no word on when they’ll actually open.
