Australians brace for severe thunderstorms and flash flooding as warnings spread across the east coast in the coming days

Australia, Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, Thunderstorms, Flash Flooding

Australia: Severe thunderstorms are on the way, and folks are being warned to stay alert. The east coast is expected to get hit hard with heavy rain and strong winds.

Queensland, Victoria, NSW, and Tasmania are all in the line of fire. Winds could gust over 100 km/h, which is pretty intense. So, if you’re in those areas, keep an eye on the weather.

Tuesday evening looks particularly wet, and the Bureau of Meteorology is saying that storms could cause power outages. So, be prepared for that, too.

On Monday night, storms are likely to roll in from central Queensland down to Tasmania. Eastern NSW is expected to see the worst of it, so stay safe out there.

Warnings are already out for parts of NSW, including Hunter and Illawarra. If you’re in those areas, make sure you know what to do if the weather turns nasty.

North Queensland and parts of the NT might also see some severe weather, with heavy rain and strong winds on the way. It’s a good idea to stay indoors if you can.

Flash flooding is a real concern, especially with the ground already soaked from previous rain. So, if you live near creeks or rivers, keep your distance.

As the storms ease on Monday night, they’ll be back with a vengeance on Tuesday. Just a heads up, if you’re in the affected areas, stay away from fallen power lines and floodwaters.
