Seven Cities in England Brace for 400-Mile Snowstorm and -6C Chill

A massive snowstorm is set to hit seven cities in England, bringing freezing temperatures and snow across the region.

Weather

London, Scotland, Ireland, Yorkshire, Birmingham, Brighton, Gloucester, Oxford, Devon

London: A big snowstorm is coming. It stretches 400 miles from London to Ireland. WX Charts show it could hit around Valentine’s Day. Expect temperatures to drop to -6C.

England, Scotland, and Ireland will all feel the chill. Areas north of London will see snow flurries. Yorkshire, Birmingham, and the south coast will also get some snow. Cities like Oxford, Gloucester, and Brighton are included too.

This storm will cover a wide area, from Brighton and Devon to Scotland and Ireland. Even Wales might see some snowflakes as we move into mid-February.

According to BBC Weather, Tuesday (February 4) will bring isolated showers in the north and west. The south and east will stay dry with some sunshine.

Looking ahead to Thursday through Saturday, expect settled and bright weather. There might be fog early on Friday, but it should stay dry for most. A few showers could pop up in the far south.

On Saturday, rain, sleet, and snow could hit the south early in the day. It should dry out later. Northern areas will remain settled.

Exacta Weather’s James Madden warns that the snow risk will grow in southern and eastern areas later this week. Snow warnings could start as early as Friday evening and continue into next week.

Many weather sources have predicted this snow event for mid-February. However, the warnings will begin this weekend, even though it’s still early February.

Forecasts have changed, but confidence in this snow event has increased. The weather patterns have shifted due to atmospheric disturbances, which were predicted months ago.

Earlier updates suggested a start date around February 8, with growing confidence in the forecast.
