Llandudno: So, there was this huge water crisis that hit the area, right? A burst pipe left around 100,000 people without water for days. It was a real mess.

Janet Finch-Saunders, a Senedd member, was really upset about it. She described the situation as heartbreaking and said it felt like a humanitarian crisis. Can you imagine not having clean water for that long?

She pointed out that Welsh Water didn’t handle things well. They only set up two water stations for tens of thousands of people, which led to long queues. It was chaos!

Finch-Saunders also criticized the compensation offered to affected households and businesses, saying it was just not enough. She was pretty furious about the whole situation and felt like the response was way too late.

Another member, Llŷr Gruffydd, chimed in, saying it was alarming how one burst pipe could cause such a big disruption. He mentioned that Welsh Water has been lagging in performance for a while now.

Carolyn Thomas added that communication was poor, leaving people worried and confused. It’s frustrating when you can’t get clear info during a crisis.

Darren Millar, the new Tory leader in the Senedd, also had a lot to say. He talked about the mixed messages from Welsh Water and how it was just not enough to help people in need.

In the end, Huw Irranca-Davies, the deputy first minister, said that most people had their water back by Sunday evening. He acknowledged how serious the situation was and thanked the volunteers who helped out.

He also mentioned that Welsh Water plans to invest a lot in improving the infrastructure. Let’s hope they really follow through on that!
