London: Keir Starmer’s recent meetings with EU leaders have made Remainers very excited. They seem to think he can undo Brexit. But many ignore the benefits Brexit has brought to the UK.

Some say Brexit has hurt the economy. They point to Germany and France doing poorly too. But they blame those issues on Covid and the war. Did the UK not face those challenges as well?

When asked about Brexit’s benefits, they often go quiet. It’s puzzling. One potential benefit could come if Donald Trump imposes tariffs on the EU but spares the UK. They might dismiss that too.

Critics argue that wanting to rejoin a customs union means accepting tariffs. It’s a confusing stance. The PM seems to think he can negotiate a better deal with the EU without making big concessions.

Meanwhile, the head of Ed Miliband’s “GB Energy” project has revealed some disappointing truths. Last July, Labour claimed it would cut energy bills by £300 and create 1,000 jobs in Aberdeen.

Now, the “GB Energy” boss says only 200-300 jobs might come by 2030. The promised £300 savings? That seems unlikely too. Energy bills have actually gone up under Labour.

Lastly, the government has faced criticism for wasting money on poor military equipment. Reviews show a long history of incompetence. Some body armor from the 1980s still hasn’t been replaced.

If military spending increases, will the government finally hold these officials accountable? It’s a question many are asking.
