Swansea: So, there’s been another incident at this beautiful spot called Fendrod Lake. People have been getting sick after smelling something really strong. It all started on December 28 when some walkers noticed this weird odor.

After being in the area, folks reported feeling dizzy, having sore throats, and even sharp pains. One person said it smelled like “paint thinner,” and the worst of it was near the little bridge. It’s pretty concerning, right?

Then, the next day, Natural Resources Wales (NRW) jumped in to check things out. They were looking into this oily substance but reassured everyone that it didn’t seem to harm any wildlife. But just when you think it’s over, a second incident popped up on January 7.

NRW is still on the case, talking to local businesses to figure out where this oil is coming from. They had already removed some oil pads and booms before heavy rain was expected, and things looked clear at that point.

But then, bam! A less severe incident happened again, and they had to put the booms back around the outfall. They’re keeping a close eye on things and will be back to check again soon. If anyone sees more pollution, they’re encouraged to report it. It’s a bit of a mystery, but they’re on it!
