Edinburgh: A local bakery, 3D Cakes, just made waves with a jaw-dropping 10-tier wedding cake. This beauty was part of the UK premiere for the movie You’re Cordially Invited, starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
The cake made its way to London for the big event at the London Palladium. It was quite the sight, especially when the stars posed next to it on the red carpet, mimicking the cake toppers. Talk about a fun nod to the film!
Creating this masterpiece wasn’t a walk in the park. The bakers spent two full days just on the sponges, followed by a whopping 136 hours on the decorations. That’s some serious dedication!
To make sure the cake arrived in one piece, they even built a custom internal support system. The team from 3D Cakes, with folks from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, really hustled to pull it all together in just a few days.
And those edible figures? Each one took over 18 hours to craft! They’ll be on display in the bakery’s windows soon, so keep an eye out if you’re in the area.
David Duncan from 3D Cakes shared his excitement, saying it’s not every day their work gets to shine alongside Hollywood stars. He called it the icing on the cake to be featured at such a big premiere!
