Glasgow: A mental health nurse named Rebecca Frew is in hot water after a wild brawl at a nightclub. This all went down at Kong in the city center on October 14, 2023.
Frew, who’s 29 and from Uddingston, got into it with a guy named Craig Munn. It started when she slapped him after he was out with friends at a Rangers event.
Things escalated quickly, leading to a massive fight that even sent her friend Andrew Chalmers to the hospital. A bystander, Steven Boulton, hit Chalmers with a plastic cup during the chaos.
After briefly leaving with her injured friend, Frew came back to grab her stuff. That’s when she kicked Munn, leaving a scratch on his head.
Interestingly, this incident happened four years after Frew had a baby scan where she claimed to see her son’s granddad’s face, who had passed away shortly before she found out she was pregnant.
Frew was found guilty of two assault charges against Munn, one of which caused injury. Boulton also pled guilty to assaulting Chalmers and will be sentenced next month.
The court heard that Frew and Chalmers arrived at the club around midnight but got separated. Frew ended up talking to Munn and his friends, but things took a turn when she hit him.
CCTV footage showed her smacking Munn before the fight broke out. After a bit of chaos, she was seen kicking him again with her boot.
When asked about the incident, Frew claimed Munn had said something negative before she attacked him, but the prosecutor suggested he hadn’t said a word.
Frew denied looking for a fight, but the sheriff didn’t buy her story, saying Munn was a credible witness. Now, Frew’s facing serious consequences for her actions.
Her lawyer asked for a deferral on the conviction, hoping it wouldn’t end up on her record. The court agreed, and she’ll be back in front of the judge next month.
