Scots Cop Found Guilty of Sex Attack on Colleague Still Drawing £100k Salary
A police officer convicted of sexual assault continues to receive his salary despite the serious charges against him
Glenrothes, Scotland, David McQuade, Sexual Assault, Police Misconduct
The assault happened back in October 2022 while he was on duty at the police station. He tried to pressure the woman into having sex, kissed her, and even tried to undo her trousers. It’s just awful. He was convicted in December and is now on the sex offenders’ register, with sentencing coming up next month.
After that, there’ll be an internal investigation to see if he’ll be fired. Politicians are outraged, saying it’s an insult to the victim that he’s still getting paid. It’s a real head-scratcher for taxpayers too, wondering why they’re footing the bill for someone who’s been found guilty of such behavior.
And get this, he’s not the only one. Another officer, Peter Fleming, also faced charges for inappropriate behavior with female colleagues. It’s raising serious concerns about sexism in the police force. An independent review found that these attitudes are still a big problem, making it tough for women in the force.
Wendy Chamberlain, a former officer, pointed out that this kind of behavior has been around for too long and needs to be dealt with. The police need to step up their game and create a better environment for everyone. It’s about time they took a hard look at these issues and made some real changes.
