Glasgow: Emergency services rushed to Polmont railway station around 8:40 am on Friday after reports of someone on the tracks. It was a serious situation.

Sadly, paramedics arrived but pronounced the person dead at the scene. It’s just heartbreaking.

ScotRail quickly informed passengers that the line between Falkirk High and Linlithgow was shut down for several hours. This caused a lot of hassle for folks trying to get between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Trains from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh were cancelled or delayed until the line reopened around 11 am. Commuters were understandably frustrated.

Police mentioned they’re not treating this incident as suspicious, which is a small relief. They’ll be sending a report to the procurator fiscal.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police confirmed the details, saying they were called to the scene and that sadly, the person was pronounced dead.
