Mumbai: So, Sanjay Raut, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), just announced that they’re going solo for the upcoming local body elections. He mentioned this during a chat with reporters, and it’s pretty interesting.

Raut pointed out that the alliances like the INDIA bloc and Maha Vikas Aghadi are mainly focused on bigger elections, like the Lok Sabha and assembly ones. He feels that being in an alliance can limit what individual party workers can do and slow down their growth.

He also said that they’ll be contesting elections for various municipal corporations and local bodies in places like Mumbai, Thane, and Nagpur, relying on their own strength. Sounds like they’re ready to take on the challenge!

Raut mentioned that Uddhav Thackeray, the party chief, has hinted at this independent approach for the elections. He didn’t hold back when criticizing Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar for playing the blame game over the MVA’s losses in the assembly elections. Raut believes that if you can’t work together, you shouldn’t be in an alliance.

He also noted that since the Lok Sabha elections, there hasn’t been much action in the INDIA bloc, with no meetings happening. Raut expressed concern about the lack of leadership, especially from Congress, which he thinks should have taken the initiative to convene a meeting.

When it came to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s comments about farm loan waivers, Raut insisted those issues need addressing. He pointed out that promises made in the BJP’s manifesto must be fulfilled, especially since Pawar is the finance minister.

Lastly, Raut had some strong words about Prime Minister Modi’s recent comments about being human. He jokingly said that if Modi is considered a god, then he can’t be human. It’s a pretty bold statement, and it shows Raut isn’t afraid to speak his mind!
