Cornwall: So, Neil Gaiman, the guy behind The Sandman, is in the news for some serious allegations. Eight women have come forward claiming he was involved in sexual misconduct. Gaiman has responded, saying he’s never done anything non-consensual.

This all kicked off after a piece in New York Magazine came out, detailing the claims. Some of these women had already spoken out in a podcast last year. One incident supposedly happened while Gaiman was visiting Cornwall with a woman.

In a blog post, he expressed his shock and disbelief at the allegations. He mentioned that while some parts of the stories felt familiar, others didn’t match his memory at all. He’s adamant that he’s never engaged in non-consensual activities.

Gaiman also took a look back at old text messages from that time, feeling they showed two people in a consensual relationship. He admitted he could have been more thoughtful in those situations, which is a pretty honest reflection.

Last July, there was a podcast series by Tortoise Media that covered similar allegations from five women. Gaiman’s team had previously stated that while BDSM might not be for everyone, it’s legal between consenting adults.

Interestingly, a police report was filed against him in January 2023, but that investigation didn’t go anywhere. It’s a complicated situation, and it’ll be interesting to see how it unfolds.
